Widening String Post Holes on Hipshot Machine Heads

Hipshot’s Grip-Lock and Classic tuners can take guitar strings up to a .060″ gauge. For any set of strings over that gauge, the string holes will need to widened. The max Hipshot’s posts can go to is 0.104″ before they lose their structural integrity.

Widening string post holes can be easily done at home, providing you have the right tools. However, I would highly recommend seeking professional help from a local luthier or guitar technician. We can also order in a set of Hipshot tuners with post hole sizes of your choice. Contact Us to order the set you need.
