N-Tune: On-Board Chromatic Guitar Tuner

Following on from my post about the Wilkat Headless Guitar, I wanted to look a little more into the N-Tune Chromatic Tuner.

The N-Tune Tuner simply fits underneath your existing volume pot and requires only a small amount of soldering. To turn on the tuner, you pull the volume control up (as you would for a coil-tap). Turning on the tuner cuts the guitar’s output and allows silent, accurate tuning. It also features LED lights, useful for dark stages and studio settings. Pushing down the volume pot turns off the tuner. The device also features true bypass so it does not effect your guitar’s tone.

Here’s their installation video.

Apart from the video above, my initial search only came up with links to a handful of retailers and a couple of articles. Nothing at all to the brands website. Reading through those posts, I eventually found a link to the manufacturers website – unfortunately, the site does not load.

Considering the fact that the device debuted at NAMM 2008, it should come as no surprise that the company appears to have come and gone. 10 years is a long time in any industry and even longer for brands bringing innovative products to the market.

However, the tuners are still available to buy, retailing at around the £60 mark, although the stock is probably very much limited.
